- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Even after reading the numerous unfavorable reviews, I was willing to give this service a try, since their payback arrangements seem to be run of the mill for short-term installment and cash advance loans (which ALWAYS have insane interest rates and fees). When I called to discuss the terms of my loan, I spoke to Lisa, who initially seemed friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, she has proved herself to be both nasty and unprofessional (what kind of office allows someone who uses "lol" in work correspondence to hold a customer service position?). After a car accident and a credit card defrauding in back-to-back weeks put my finances in an extremely precarious position, I found myself unable to make payments according to the original schedule. Not only was Lisa unsympathetic, she continually accused me of attempting to steal money from Green Gate, all in nearly unintelligible email ramblings devoid of punctuation and rife with spelling errors. My payments are currently back on track, and now that they are she's back to being sugar and honey, but to say that I am less than impressed with Green Gate's customer service is an understatement. There are no shortage of short term loan and cash advance centers in California. Go to literally any other one.By Sarah Sheppeck, September 12, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆DON'T DO IT!!!! Getting a loan from Green Gate is NOT worth it. You will spend soo much more than you borrowed. A ridiculous amount. I was told that I was on Auto Payments, so every month they took out $75 for my $250 loan. I called by the 3rd month to inquire about how much I still owed and I still owed the full amount of $325 ($250 for the loan and $75 for the finance fee). It turns out that it is not just a one time finance fee, you pay that fee every month until you pay off your loan. They really sell you on how easy it will be, but you will get screwed over.
